Campagnano di Roma to La Storta

Leaving our room in the morning.

Hello y’all, Wow, today could have been a very tough day, and it wasn’t easy, but we walked the whole day with the couples from Connecticut and Canada.  It wasn’t planned but as we got out on to the street in town and started walking, we turned to look back, and maybe 15 yard behind us, there they were.  They were on a mission to beat the heat as well.  Walking and talking, again, make the miles and time fly by.  There was no lollygagging around, we were stepping it off.  By the way, we got out before 6:00 am once again.  We all stopped at the 5 mile point in a small town, of course I had the Coke Zero and a sugar donut, they all were looking forward to their coffee, and seemed to be much healthier eaters, sandwiches and fruit.  I, personally had very interesting conversations, with James most of the day, which by the way, today was his birthday.  We did not stop again until we reached our final destination of La Storta.  We are staying a bit out of town, closer to Rome than they are, so we may not see them tomorrow, but we did exchange contact info, so we can get together for lunch or dinner in Rome.  Tomorrow is an 11 mile finish, leaving early again to beat the heat.  Until then.

I turned to take this picture leaving the town gate, if you blow it up, you’ll see our friends there behind us.

The gang together, ready to charge out of town.

This cat was hanging around at the bar at our 5 mile stop.

The landscape today.
