Acquapendente
Us at the third of the 3 churches in San Quirico
Hello y’all, one last bus ahead, we hope. Things have cooled off a bit, and we are itching to start hiking again. Today was a day spend mostly in San Quirico again, the bus wasn’t until 5 in the afternoon. We got out of our hotel at checkout, and headed into town central for a coffee and pastry, and ran into Franco again, as he was getting ready to hike out. We invited him to join us, and he accepted. He was only hiking 5 kilometers today to a town with warm springs and spas. He was treating himself to a day off in style. This was probably our last meeting with him, since our schedule will keep us ahead of him from now on. We checked out a couple other bakeries in town, and then ate a late lunch before the bus. The bus ride was worse than the hills and winding roads in West Virginia, I’m just happy we survived. We checked out a little of Acquapendente, before calling it a day. We will tour all of the town tomorrow, before we start hiking again Thursday. Most of the remaining hikes are shortish, so, hopefully successful ones. I’ll check back tomorrow.
I saw this tree lined driveway in the distance while on the bus.
Thanks for all the great pictures of Italy! I'm glad you decided to avoid the heat, and take some buses. As you'll be hiking again soon, I'm excited to see pictures back on the trails!
