Leaving our Hotel this morning.
Hey y’all, We made it! 🎈 We were shooting to get on the trail at sun up, 5:45am, but didn’t get out until 6:10. I had to wear my pull over for the early morning, it was 54 degrees. It felt so nice to be walking in the cool air. We did a lot of road walking early on, but soon got off into the countryside and woods. The only town between, was at the halfway point, so that worked out well. We had a sandwich and some pastries, of course Rudy had coffee and I had a coke. We finally saw some other walkers, we saw Carlos, who we had met the day before, and met someone new, her name is Natasha. She is from Kyiv, Ukraine, she moved to Italy 2+ years ago, when the war started. She has a daughter in law and grandson in Miami. After lunch, and not walking very far we saw the Lake that was created by a volcano over 1000 years ago. Our walk to Bolsena was around the lake for 7 miles. Bolsena is on the lake, and is a very quaint town. We are staying in what was once a palace here. It is part museum, part hotel. Tomorrow will be 11+ miles to Montefiascone. Until then.

Lots of sunflower fields today.
One overachiever ( I can’t take credit for that joke)
Our first view of the lake.
Getting closer
The Castle at the head of Bolsena, the lake behind.
Beautiful church in Bolsena
The street built from town center, straight to the lake, lined with 150 yr old Sycamore Trees
That’s a big tree!
At the beach.
Bolsena looks like it would be a nice town
